We are an independent, non-profit Catholic book store. We seek to serve the interests of people inquiring about the Christian way of life with our selection of books, gifts, and religious articles.
We are committed to the vision of Vatican II, and we earnestly seek to serve all people and the broadest range of spiritual inquiry. We strive to do so in a comfortable setting that is conducive to discovery, to appreciation of our offerings, and to opportunities for stimulating interchanges with others. We seek to maintain and expand the community of enthusiastic participants in The Catholic Book Store.
The Catholic Book Store is partnering with the PEOPLE
PROGRAM, a mission of the Congregation of St. Joseph to seniors in New Orleans. All People Program classes are taught by volunteers, experts in their fields, who teach for free. In this time of the pandemic, all programs are conducted virtually on Zoom.
In the Spring semester, Sister Helen Prejean, a member of the Congregation of St. Joseph, will kick off a program featuring her latest boook, River of Fire.
Discussion of the book begins on January 18th and runs to April 23rd, the end of the Spring session. Cost of the semester, which allows enrollment in any or all of the almost 100 classes offered, is $150.
Copies of River of Fire in paperback are available for $16.95 at the Book Store. To register for the discussion and learn what led Sister Helen to accompany prisoners on Death Row, go to www.peopleprogram.org or
